Elite Timing and Event Management was a company started by a fellow coach, Rick Moody, after he concluded his coaching career. In a very short time, we grew from 5 meets in year one to over 75. In the fall of 2011, CK Timing became a part of the Elite Timing brand and by the end of 2012 we more than doubled, handling 170 events for the calendar year.
Our main goal after taking the reins over for this company is to continue to provide a high quality product. Interacting and respecting those who we work for is what makes the difference. Our service is second to none, as is our product. After coaching for 13 years, I wanted to expand beyond just our high school and have a chance to improve this sport we love.

Running, Coaching, etc.
My exposure to running began in Jr. High when just about the only thing I was able to do was simply put one foot in front of the other. In 1986 as a 7th grader I ran a 9:27 mile. As a result of great PE teachers and coaches I learned to love running and eventually ran 4:40 as a high school senior at Leto High School in Tampa, FL. Legendary Coach Bob Ennis was my high school coach and mentor and I knew even then I wanted to "be like him".

After graduating college, I landed a teaching and coaching job at Winter Park High School. Unfortunately, taking over a cross country program that only had 9 boys on it and had not been to the state meet in 12 years was where I started trying to "be like" Bob. Over the next 13 years, the men of WP went on to win multiple Conference, District, and Regional Championships as well as 5 state championships and a trip to Nike Team Nationals. After several years of being an assistant track coach, I was given control of the boys track program as well. During that time, the men of WP finished 3rd in the state twice, won dozens of invitational meets, and reset long standing (50+ years of track) school relay records from the 4 x 100M relay all the way through the 4 x 1600M relay.

Meet Management Experience
As a high school coach I managed/hosted over 100 track and field meet and multiple cross country meets. Part of the meets managed were over a dozen district and regional meets as well as hosting the Florida High School State track meet 14 times. In addition to meet managing, I have timed many meets including small invitationals as well as District and Regional meets all the way up to large AAU/open meets.
C.O.O./Finishlynx/Hytek/IPICO Operator/Lead Timer - Chris Kail
I spent most of my life running in Central Florida. I started running at Howard Middle School, and went on to Edgewater High School where I was on the 1994 4A State Championship Cross Country team. I finished my career at the University of Central Florida. In 2001-2002, I coached Cross Country and Track at Troy University In Alabama. This is also where I started timing. I was handed a laptop with an old version of Hy-tek DOS and told we had a meet in 6 weeks and that I needed to learn how to time before then. In 2002 I came back to Orlando and started working as a private timing contractor and I have been timing and working events ever since. I formed CK Timing & Event Management in the Fall of 2011 and bought into Elite Timing and Event Management as well. I closed CK Timing shortly after and have been running Elite Timing with my partner and good friend Mike Hill ever since.
