New Rule Regarding Scratches: This year, athletes may be scratched, or “no show” at an event at the District level without penalty. The exception would be if an athlete had to qualify for the race, then they would be disqualified from future competition in the state series. For example, if an athlete misses a preliminary race or field event, they are fine to continue competing. If an athlete misses a finals race that they had to qualify for in the preliminary competition, then they would be removed for the remainder of the state series in all events. See the Rule Book for more information.
